Designed in collaboration with Barkindji, Malyangapa artist Jasmine Miikika Craciun, the Para-Kiira Baaka men’s swim brief is a one-of-a-kind design exclusive to Gali Swimwear.

The circular motif in Para-Kiira Baaka represents the way water ripples as it moves, with each unique set of concentric circles contouring the body. The contrast in colours glistens in the sun when wet.

Crafted from high-quality recycled materials, the Para-Kiira Baaka swim brief not only looks beautiful but also performs and feels comfortable. Perfect for swimming, lounging, and long days at the beach.

  • Made in Australia
  • Premium recycled material
  • Chlorine, saltwater and sun cream resistant
  • Fully lined in front
  • White internal drawstring

Available in two cuts:

  • Yuli (6.5cm side width)
  • Buligaa (4cm side width)

Artwork Story

In Barkindji language, "Para-Kiira Baaka" means "Far Away Country and Darling River".

"It was on trip out west with my Nan to my Country (Tipooburra, 14 hours north-west of Sydney) that inspired this collection.

The colours used for each print are based on a photograph I took on the trip. The red, black, blue and purple are representative of my Malyangapa family, and of the wide open plains and desert that is a part of the traditional landscape in the region.

The circles, on the other hand, represent the water ripples of a flowing, healthy Baaka [Darling River]. To create the ripples, I painted a series of concentric circles in ink on paper, taking pride in the unique shape each circle had. The ripples and the Baaka [Darling River] are more representative of my Barkindji roots."

I got a pair for Christmas - the fabric is so soft, the fit is perfect and they are so flattering.

It's alittle skimpier than i thought but the fabric is super comfortable. If you could do a european style that's thicker on the sides i'd buy more
